This online course about the science and practice of beekeeping is for beginning beekeepers. It covers bee biology and behavior, hive management, equipment, bee products, and more.

2023 Virtual Introductory Beekeeping Course 

Participants will have access to pre-recorded lecture and demonstration videos and also videos from the HBRC’s YouTube channel. 


Live Webinar Training is now hosted on the 4th Sunday of each month at 7:00 pm and is FREE to attend. Recordings are only available to paid members of OSBA. We are using Zoom which allows us up to 500 available spots per presentation.

The Alabama Extension System, in cooperation with Extension Systems and University Bee Labs across the SE United States, hosts a monthly series called the At Home Beekeeping Series on the last Tuesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 PM CST.  This FREE VIRTUAL SERIES highlights new research and best beekeeping practices from bee labs in the SE US.  It is open to everyone!  We hope that you would consider sharing this series with the local associations in your state.

 

Our next session is next Tuesday, April 25, at 6:30 PM CST.  We will have Lewis Bartlett from the University of Georgia with us to talk about the supplemental feeding and disease management.
